Firstly I can see where people are having trouble connecting to certain systems. I felt the same way and the instructions didn't fully state why, they give an idea, the rest I understood. Holding the top button takes you to a menu where you can choose how you want to connect to your devices. After figuring it out (and almost getting it back) it works amazing, I hooked up a bunch of things to send through my receiver. And received through a couple of devices.
