As humidifiers, I have tried all types of humidifiers, both classic and ultrasonic. In a way, I've become an expert on moisturizers. Ultrasonic ones seem to moisturize, but the furniture within a radius of 1.5 meters will be damaged, if the water is hard, then the calcium deposit will not be washed off, and if the distillate is used, then there is no efficiency at low powers, and puddles around at high powers.
Half of the "Classic" are not humidifiers at all. I will not name brands, but those humidifiers where plastic discs are dipped into a basin and then blown by a fan do not work at all. From the word, no way, a person “breathes” more moisture. They still work poorly with porous sponges (until the sponge deteriorates, and it deteriorates in 2-3 months), but disc humidifiers are some kind of placebo device designed for design and interior design. But what do sponge and disc humidifiers have in common is that after a couple of days the water begins to bloom and becomes slimy, and I guarantee you, if you do not want to breathe fungi and any microbiota, you will wash these discs once a week and wash sponges. As a bonus, the rotation mechanisms are plastic and the curves in 99% of the devices begin to crunch at one point (every 5 seconds the sound XRR . XRR . and so on all night), even for devices for 3 hundred dollars, which by the way will not be a disadvantage for a return.
For myself, I determined that if you need an air filter, then you need to take filtration units with HEPA filters, and not pseudo washer-humidifiers. And if you need a humidifier, then only a steamer.
Well, for those who object that the steam engine consumes a lot of electricity, I can say that paying an extra $ 10 per month for 200 kW (24/7 at 2nd power) is the price for the well-being of your mucous membranes, eyes, nose and larynx. I hope my review will be useful to someone :)

Pros

The price is currently significantly lower than that of similar steam engines. The output is a sterile steam-distillate, and not a finely dispersed suspension of that liquid with all the bacteria and chemical compounds that was poured into the tank like in ultrasonic devices. The water does not get moldy like in the classic ones. Really moisturizes, gurgles out 2 liters of water per night. No flying around. Essentially a bubbling pot. It murmurs like a river, I thought it would interfere with sleep, but it turned out to calm and help to fall asleep. The roar of gears in "classic" humidifiers prevented me from sleeping. "Sand" from the eyes and peeling of the skin went away after a couple of days, in the morning the mucous membranes were not dry, so the stories about humidity are reality and not marketing horror stories. There is protection against an empty tank, it just stops gurgling. The payment for electricity will increase by 150-200 kW. For the price of 2 mugs of coffee in a coffee shop, you feel great in the morning.

Cons

After all, a basin of water and a wet towel for a battery is cheaper. Zhurchik like a saucepan on low gas. A little louder than ultrasonic devices, but more pleasant than the crunch of gears in the "classic" ones. Formally, it is also a disadvantage. No hygrometer. But on the other hand, humidity should be measured where the person is, and not where the humidifier is. A smart plug + hygrometer near a human habitat is the right option, although less convenient than a dummy hygrometer near a humidifier.
