These are an excellent pair of hiking boots. The bottom rubber is amply thick and supplies traction regardless of the terrain. The construction is light with breathable sides making it great for hiking long periods in the summer. I loved that they included an extra set of laces! Keep in mind they have a narrow fit with flat soles which may or may not match your preference. These are waterproof boots, unless you submerge them. The reinforced wrap around toe and heel really add to the build quality of these boots and help while hiking. The black on black color look tough, and I highly recommend these boots!
