I pulled out the hinge pins one by one, measured the hanger and used the pins to attach the towel rail. Works perfectly. No, it won't hold your 5 year old when he tries to pull himself up on it, but it will easily hold a couple of wet towels. People who have difficulty installing it should read and understand the instructions that come with it before attempting to install it, or simply hire someone to make it the way you want it.
