I felt like it was cold pressed steel, not cast aluminum - it would have been better for me. I would like a die-cast mechanics set, but that would be too much. I don't see them failing or the socket end reinforcement etc. failing. For what I paid it looks like good value for money and will be there when I need it. (I have my original tool box from when I was a teenager, so hopefully it will get a lot of use.)
