There are supposedly two ways of getting power, from an outlet and from a wired one. The latter is incredibly difficult due to the plastic they use to hold the wire in the bottom hole. I tried many different methods to remove it using my fingers and various soft tools, eventually destroying the plastic and realizing that there is no mechanism for elegant removal. The remaining hole is ugly even without a scratch. Also, the screws that attach to the mounting plate are too long to fit snugly against the wall unless you add some standoffs somewhere in the system. Instructions are not at all for this product. I do not recommend.
