This lighter is a very good weight for home use I think I carry on my pocket visor). I find the lighter ideal for pipe smoking. You simply place the flame hole over your head, hold the lighter aside and light the pipe as usual. I keep mine in my truck and smoke a pipe on the way to work. I can easily light a pipe with minimal effort. I would highly recommend this lighter to any pipe smoker looking to have a good time at home or in their car cigarette lighter. It has a very elegant look and a solid weight. Also, I haven't had any heat transfer issues as others have reported. Sure, my pipe lights up adequately within a few seconds, but I haven't had any heat transfer issues or burned my fingers.
