I've had one of these for a long time and I like it so much I bought a second one for the house. There are a number of features that work for me.1. It is covered with fabric. This is a jagged nylon jersey that provides enough friction for the mouse to glide properly. The foam palm rest is the right size and height for me (I have small wrists). The bottom has a sticky surface that stays on the table. No slip. Eventually, the sticky surface will become smoother as microscopic dirt or dust from your tabletop builds up on it and the knitted slip begins to detach. My old one still works but the edge of the lid lifts around the memory foam. However the foam is still intact and not crumbling and the mouse pad is still functional and I think it could be five years old if not eight. Since I use it every day at work I can say that it is very good and durable. So I bought another one and will probably replace it at work. This pad is my favorite, not everyone will like it because (at least for me) the way the palm rests feel and work is very individual. I have some that I hate and others that I love - it all depends on how you sit and work. For me this pad is perfect and feels very good.
