Hi all, I bought two of these devices not to use on a laptop but to make music. As you can see from my photo, I have Ableton Push 2 on one and Maschine Plus on the other. Both devices fit perfectly on tripods. I'm great at finger drumming - if you gain a lot of weight (and I mean really hard) playing your fingers, they will lean down because the angle of inclination is NOT fixable. no problem playing my tilt pads and I love these pads. They're made of high-quality smooth metal - just like the MacBook Pro. The basic weight is very strong and there is no chance of the item tipping over when you play with your finger. They even look like they were made by Apple with a simple and solid construction. Can't recommend it highly enough - A+
