Review on 🛡️ Guardog Top Notch Hard Adjustable Skate Guards: Colorful, Scented, and Color-Changing Designs for Enhanced Skating Protection by Chris Hamim

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fully adjustable (so far)

Update since use. I have raised my rating to 4 stars. They seem to work well but I can't give a 5 star rating as there is a clear size limit on skates designed for their use but the marketing doesn't reflect this. Also, there is a risk that the protection will fall apart if I don't put it on or take it off very carefully. It's like nobody is taller/bigger than a 12 year old skate. * 3 stars until I use it enough to more or less justify it. The packaging says "Fully Adjustable" and "Fits Most Types of Ice Hockey and Figure Skating Blades". I've just received a pair of hockey skates in my size (US) 13.5 and the instructions say "Unacceptable - too much spacing between centers - more than 3/4". Well, I didn't have to cut them at all, just assemble them. , there is a gap of almost 2 inches between the front and back covers. They seem to fit well, despite the gap and despite the fact that I thought the spring would disengage and snap back to me. So why do the instructions say that more than 3/4" is unacceptable? I see no reason why they wouldn't work with that much spacing. Maybe it has more to do with liability than going and deciding to make one Going down a surface that causes damage in between (like the edge of a sidewalk or something), I'd be happy with that explanation as long as it works and doesn't damage my skates or me!

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
