I purchased this product because my dryer started smelling like burning and it seemed to be taking longer to dry than before. The lint filter and the inside of the dryer are cleaned regularly. However, it has been some time since the shaft was cleaned on the outside. I took this instead of paying someone $65-$200 to clean the air duct for me. I'm glad I went for the longer version as I broke three sections the first time I used it. Keep in mind my roof vent duct is only about 10 feet long so the extra sections allowed me to finish cleaning. Product. Nylon? The shafts simply detached from the metal connectors. No brush has ever been hung from anything but a pile. This is a straight metal duct from the dryer to the roof.
