Sturdiness problem occurs at the joint between the two wooden halves. The problem is the hanger bolt (the screwing device that holds the two halves together). It is 5/16” diameter (which is great!) but it is too short at only about 1-1/2” long. The machine screw end of the hanger bolt is fine, but the wood lag side only penetrates about 3/4”. After my first use, the wood threads stripped (there are only a few threads because the lag is too short for a 5/16” diameter fastener.Simple fix: incorporate a 3” (or longer) hanger bolt to penetrate further into the wood. More threads into the wood equates to greater sturdiness.I replaced my 1-1/2” hanger bolt with a 3” hanger bolt for less than $1 and it works great now.
