First off, the packaging itself is impressive. Very elegant and well designed. The stand itself follows suit; it's almost architectural. It's really well engineered, sturdy and has only three elements: top plate, base plate and pillar. Simply screw the plates to top and bottom of the pillar (with the supplied tool) and you're done. A really clever and well thought-out part of the design are the two studs on either end of the pillar that help to align the holes in the plates so it's easier to insert the screws. That's enlightened engineering. Those studs didn't have to be there. The stand would have worked without them. But someone decided that the addition of the studs would assist in assembly as well as provide extra rigidity. That's quality!
