On Halloween (all of October actually) I always forget to use different green, orange and purple lightbulbs for fun and to give the house a 'Halloween' vibe. However, I've never found a purple lightbulb that's as bright as the other primary colors in years -- every time I've held it, it gave off a dull, whitish-purple glow. I recently found that this is to avoid the effect of black light and to get really bright violet light it needs to emit UV. So I bought these two LED filament bulbs after seeing the brightness and saturation of other filament bulbs - and I actually bought them to use as purple bulbs. And they are, seriously, the deepest, richest purples I've ever seen from a lamp, tape or spotlight. The photos I've attached don't even render properly because the phone's camera can't capture colors. If you're looking for a purple lightbulb, I sincerely think black incandescent light is superior to true "purple". The only downside is that you will of course need to keep them away from fluorescent objects and surfaces, but as this is an inherent feature of black lights I did not take this into account when reviewing this product. Otherwise if you use a dark lampshade these lights will look sooooo evil.
