I ordered this twice while my son was growing up. The plus size fit him perfectly as a slim six year old (about 40-48 pounds). The XL just arrived and has room to grow over the next year or so. It's his favorite swimwear and so comfortable that he sometimes wears it around the house just for fun. It's not bulky (the weight is comparable to a long-sleeved swim shirt) but offers excellent sun protection - a great combo for the heat. And it's held up very well - the plus size is still in great shape and I expect it will last another year with its little brother. Will probably buy them again in a year when my son outgrows current size.
