This is it a near clone of the Andis animal trimmer head. When taking it out of the package I did not notice a difference between the new head and my original until I actually went to use it.First, this head was difficult to snap onto the trimmer. I had to push with an uncomfortable amount of force to get it snap on. I never experienced that with an Andis head.Next, I never actually turned the trimmer on because when I went to attach the comb, I found it wouldn't stay attached to the head. I disassembled both the new and original heads and found that this replacement head is just a bit shorter (top to bottom) than the original Andis head. I put it on a caliper and saw about a 0.03 inch difference between the two (about 0.76mm). This was enough to prevent the metal clip on the Andis comb from holding the comb to the head. Not being able to use the combs is simply a non-starter for me. I was honestly glad I didn't have to try to snap that head back on my trimmer and risk damage to the trimmer.Lastly, I put the ceramic cutting blade from this new head into the shell of my old Andis head, just to try it out. It cut quite well, and did indeed run dramatically cooler than the steel cutting blade. If the product was just a replacement blade, it would get 5 stars!For me, I replace clipper heads about once every 3 years, and for the price delta ($10 to $15 at most), I'm going to stick with the genuine Andis heads. However, I will continue to use the ceramic cutting blade from this head in my Andis shell.3 stars because the head seems to be decent, although its not the exact size of the original Andis head, and I personally don't think the price delta is enough to risk damage to the trimmer because of a bad fit, or damage to my dog because a comb falls off.
