I carry Sonic on my back when I ride my motorbike. I get lots of funny looks/signals/waves from passers by and anything that makes you more visible on the bike is a plus. Sonic kept up at 85mph which is reasonable as he always has to go fast. I'm 5'8" and even with a motorcycle jacket I can adjust the straps. They're quite wide, especially since it's made for kids. The only complaint I have is that Sonic's nose is starting to go in. That lies probably because it keeps bumping into the back of my helmet, so it's not that bad.
