Review on Clover White Chaco Liner: Precise Marking Tool, Pack of 1 - A Must-Have for Sewing and Crafts by Tara Ford

very useful

Got this based on recommendations. I usually use chalk, tracing paper, or something similar to transfer the markings to the fabric (usually clothing) as I sew. This is great for drawing a line without grabbing the fabric and pulling it out of the horizontal position. There's a kind of wheel that spreads the chalk and makes a line. It only seems to go one way though, so you'll have to keep figuring out which way it goes, or label the handle somehow so it's always obvious to you. It makes a good line, but of course being chalk it doesn't last long. If you're fiddling with your fabric, if you're sewing clothes or whatever, the chalk can be brushed off or tapped off. I marked the shirt and then placed it on a tailor's dummy to edit, but the chalk dulls it. So it is best to start immediately after marking, otherwise use a washable textile marker. Overall I'm happy with this discovery and will continue to use it in my sewing arsenal. I also told my mother about it. Pros: Very comfortable Makes a nice, clean line Doesn't leave chalk on hands Reusable Cons: Writes in one direction Doesn't last long

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
