This case arrived brand new and is as described. I ordered it because I thought I'd like it, but like clothing, sometimes you just have to try it on. What one person likes, another might not like and vice versa. I ended up sending it back as after trying it on it wasn't to my liking. The case fitted my 16-inch MBP well, although I think a good fit is to have a bit of wiggle room. , waterproof, canvas outside, soft inside and good zippers. I wouldn't worry about scratching my laptop - this case does a good job. Why I finally returned it: With the computer in my pocket, it was a bit too flexible. Although the handles were made of double or triple gauge material, they closely resembled canvas bag handles without stiffness. Possibly due to the extra room when holding the handles, the sides tended to pull outward and stick out the sides to take up sagging - but that was only because the sides were made of super flexible material. So if that's what you're intoβsuper flexible (like Converse pumps versus leather), this bag might be for you. Five stars because while that wasn't my preference, there's nothing wrong with the product - well executed d for a specific taste.
