I bought this V-Lock tripod plate to complement the same brand shoulder mount to avoid compatibility issues. Obviously SmallRig know this is a decision many people will make and that's why they overpriced this heavy metal plate with 1 or 2 moving parts. That is the main reason for the 3 stars, the high price. Otherwise, the build quality seems pretty good. I hope this oven will last a lifetime. It's pretty hard. Want less weight. I also wish the release handle was colored to make it stand out better in the dark. I would also like them to drill 3 small threaded triangular holes in the top of the plate like other companies do so I can attach an extension that I have that was made specifically for those holes. This alone could be the reason why I am returning this item and buying a cheaper one that has this feature. IMO this tripod plate could have cost 50% less. It feels overpriced compared to the price of a shoulder that costs $50 more but has a lot more workmanship, features, and materials.
