Great for use with SmallRig VCT-14 shoulder plate. Solidly built. And cheaper than other Sony/Zacuto/Wooden Camera offerings. Works just as well as these alternatives. Honestly, you can't go wrong with SmallRig.

I lost my VCT plate (which I found much later) and it was the cheapest replacement I found when buying a camera worth over 20,000 US dollars installed. SmallRig makes some very good film camera parts, but you need to do your homework and read reviews on some of them. It was definitely a great purchase. RECOMMEND.

Sturdy metal plate. This is a true VCT-14 plate with a spring loaded rear pin that helps keep the camera in place without wobbling. Avoid VCT-U14 inserts as they have a solid rear pin and are not usually solid metal. Despite its all-metal construction, it doesn't weigh as much as it could due to cutouts on the sides.

I bought this Smallrig quick release adapter to use with the Smallrig quick release shoulder plate on my Sony FS7ii and Manfrotto 504HD head. It is very well built and durable. The ability to quickly detach the fs7ii from the tripod and shoot is second to none. The price was extremely attractive compared to Zacuto.

I bought it for the Sony F55. The attachment of the VCT-14 plate was very reliable, there was no backlash. I bought a small rig shoulder mount with a sliding baseplate and they work well together. It increases the center of gravity and I miss going through the support bars, but it's worth it in an ENG situation because of the quick-release feature. Feels solid and well made.

The Smallrig VCT insert is ruggedly built, precision engineered and affordable. It's built a lot better and fits a lot better than a lot of the regular VCT-14 plates that are floating around. I use a Lanpart VCT setup with a Panasonic EVA1 and it snaps and fits into the mount with no play which is a huge improvement over the corrugated VCT plate I had.
