Firm, not thin. Works, didn't break, didn't dull.
I haven't used it much though. I have a ceramic ocarina that I am setting up and the ceramic is very hard and difficult to file. This bead reamer worked very well. I used it for about two hours. Not broken, not boring. It worked. It's firm, not flimsy. It gets an easy five stars.
