Not complete and lacking instruction details

My son asked for this gift for months. Seemed simple enough to start. First off it’s 904 pieces of which about 20 parts were not included so we had to improvise to complete assembly. Due to this there are gaps, or missing parts around engine nacelles on all 4 engines and the lower wings and tail or rear empennage assembly. As an extra disappointment the instructions didn’t even give details on some parts how they should be installed which is typical of most things coming from China anymore…

Pros
  • Airplane & Jet Kits
Cons
  • May take a considerable amount of time to assemble, making it difficult for those with limited free time

Ok, if you have spare parts

This was missing multiple pieces. While it looks good, the plane cannot be assembled as directed. It requires assembling and disassembling to get parts to fit, and even then, not all of them will.Cobi doesn't provide part numbers so here is what I was missing based instruction numbers and descriptions: #23 2x10 plate, gray; #27 1x2 slope, gray; and #28 1x4 curved piece, grayOn instruction #32, the piece will not fit . On instruction 33, the 1x1 curved piece will not fit on the inside engines. It

Son loves it. 'nuff said.

My son is a huge fan of the Cobi WW2 historical collection. I got him the B-17 for Christmas. It's a prized toy and he really enjoys playing with it. This one has a great level of detail for a brick model at this scale in my opinion. We really had a good time building this together; but a little advice: go slow and double check your build against the pictures as you build the wings up (similar to measure twice, cut once). The pictures can get tricky visually if you're rushing things and it's no

Memphis belle - my new review

my grandson plays a lot with his cobi planes, I am the head mechanic if there is something catastrophic, they go together very well and it was shipped very quickly . this will be his 38th cobi ww2 series and we will be buying more as long as we can. Thanks Cobi and the toy store that took our order.

Pros
  • the instructions were a little hard but it was a really nice set but the wheels keep coming off.
Cons
  • Intricacy may lead to frustration for those who are not experienced with model building

10/10 worth the $120 price tag.

This plane is everything LEGO wouldn't give us and more. unlike most LEGO sets, this model has no excessive features like the stud/spring-loaded launchers which lego adores filling their sets with(particularly the Star Wars ones). It has opening bomb-bay doors, a ball turret, and several other browning .30 1919/.50 m2 machine guns in the correct places. the ball turret on the belly of the plane can be retracted into the body like in the actual plane(this feature was there in case of…

Pros
  • My grandson loves this particular plane because one of his favorite movies is "Memphis Belle"
Cons
  • Due to the believability of the design, it may not be suitable for those with fears of aviation or military conflicts

Beautiful build but not exactly playable

My 8yo couldn't assemble this himself. I don't expect him to, but mentioning this fact. It took me almost all day (with breaks in between each of the 4 bags) to put this together. Some parts were confusing but nothing I couldn't figure out in a few minutes. It's an amazing build, and looks awesome when you're done. I was quite satisfied once completed. My son wants to play with it, and it's for him. I'm sad to say it's not holding up to get gentle play, and I expected at least that The landing…

Pros
  • This plane is historic but extremely hard to assemble
Cons
  • May not be as durable as traditional toys due to its delicate design

Disappointing for my opinion

My 10 year old son love’s history and was so happy to learn that WW2 vehicles were available to build. He’s been a LEGO builder for many years and has said that these COBI bricks do not fit together as well as LEGO. When putting them together, pieces often pop up and don’t stay stick together tightly. This is disappointing to spend the money for a special gift, only to leave him frustrated.

Pros
  • Great Product looks exactly as described. No parts missing.
Cons
  • Limited educational value beyond the interest in military history

I found the instruction manual impossible to decipher

I'm a Lego fan, and have spent many happy hours -- years! -- building their incomparably imaginative and exquisitely designed models. The trouble is, of course, that they refuse on principle to design historical warships, airplanes, etc. (They have no problem with licensed galaxy-destroying motherships and weapons, but that's for another time.)But I couldn't follow these instructions; after each step, the previous step just fades into the background forever, so I couldn't confirm whether the…

Priced right for what you get

I'm basing this review, in part, on a comparison to what this set would be if it was LEGO instead.Right out of the gate, the price point is very attractive as an equivalent from LEGO would easily be twice as expensive.PROS:- Nice packaging, box, etc.- Great instructions, easy to follow- Final build is impressive-looking- was 'fun'CONS:- several missing pieces- Elements oftentimes don't fit together perfectly flush, with visible gaps once assembled- glue had to be used in a couple spots (there…

Pros
  • Grandson loves this set. Went together easily and looks like the real one at National Air Force Museum.
Cons
  • May be too large for smaller living spaces, making it difficult to display

Frustrating build, looks awesome when done.

Let me start by saying that I did not have any missing pieces, in fact it appears they are including some extra landing gear struts now as well. However, the wings are pretty heavy and there's a few steps that require you to flip over the half assembled wing structures and they will fall apart.every.single.time. I wound up having to use some glue and wait it out, just to be able to finish. Also, a few of the wing panels just will not stay down without gluing them. Once it's together, it makes a

HUGE! Looks great. best in my review

Another great Cobi plane set. This is a large set. Very impressive looking. Fit is good, easy to build, and sturdy for such a large piece. Highly recommend.

Pros
  • Don’t that hard to assemble good set looks like the real thing
Cons
  • May not be of interest to those without a specific appreciation for the Memphis Belle or WWII planes

An impressive kit best in my review

This is a really great kit. It's a nice size, feels sturdy when completed, and the proportions are really good. Like many building kits, it lacks in the finer details, but this is certainly a faithful building kit replica of the B17F.

Pros
  • the only thing bad i can say here is the wings are a little flimsy
Cons
  • Not suitable for young children due to small parts and intricate assembly

Revainrating 4 out of 5

cool plane on my review.

super hard to put together ! (harder than any Lego kit). instructions weren't always accurate - but the end result is pretty awesome

Pros
  • Manufactured In The Eu By A Company With An Over 20 Years Of Tradition Of Producing Quality Construction Blocks
Cons
  • May require a certain level of skill to display properly, or it may not look as good as in the promotional images

Not a Lego for sure

Will not stay together parts fall off if you try to pick it up.We have the Titantic and it was perfectly fine, this one is poor.

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Could potentially lose value over time if newer, more impressive replicas are produced

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Looks great, a bit tricky in spots.

Not as good as the other guys (Lego) as far as instructions and fit, but visually appealing. Parts tend to pop off so handle with care, not a toy, but I didn't expect it to be.If you get hung up assembling there are good videos on youtube.

Pros
  • 920 High Quality Blocks
Cons
  • The style of the plane may not fit into everyone's personal tastes or decor preferences
