Review on Authentic Replica Of The WWII Iconic B-17F Flying Fortress Memphis Belle Plane From COBI Historical Collection by Ross Sugden

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Priced right for what you get

I'm basing this review, in part, on a comparison to what this set would be if it was LEGO instead.Right out of the gate, the price point is very attractive as an equivalent from LEGO would easily be twice as expensive.PROS:- Nice packaging, box, etc.- Great instructions, easy to follow- Final build is impressive-looking- was 'fun'CONS:- several missing pieces- Elements oftentimes don't fit together perfectly flush, with visible gaps once assembled- glue had to be used in a couple spots (there was no other way!)What this set has going for it is that it fulfills a niche LEGO does not: cool looking military models. It's also priced right. However, you do get what you pay for. If LEGO had a B-17, I'm sure it would be better quality overall, but also twice as expensive.

Pros
  • Grandson loves this set. Went together easily and looks like the real one at National Air Force Museum.
Cons
  • May be too large for smaller living spaces, making it difficult to display
