Review on πŸŽ’ Versatile and Stylish AmazonBasics Carry Travel Backpack in Salmon Shade by Tracey Navasca

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Fits under airplane seats! but too many zippers, miserable bag H20

WHAT I LIKE1) Fits under airplane seats. That's probably the most important thing. I should clarify that all 5 flights I have flown were United Airlines. From what I recall the Delta has a lot less space under the seat/leg so I'm not sure it will fit under the Delta's seat. 2) I really like the bright orange upholstery. This makes items much easier to find than if they were black or dark blue. The lining is a very light fabric. I'm not sure how well it will hold up over time, but since I use packing cubes and don't usually pack, I think it puts less stress on the forage. 3) The backpack straps are quite comfortable, an air channel that helps prevent your back from becoming a sweaty mess when moving from one airport terminal to another. It worked. My back was significantly less sweaty than with my previous backpack. 5) I like the small padded bag that fits snugly on the waist. It is pickpocket proof and fits comfortably around the curve of my spine. 6) I didn't need a shoulder strap which came in addition to the backpack straps. But I thought it would be nice to include it. 7) I like the clamshell opening of the main compartment. I pack packing cubes and it makes packing so much easier. 8) There was ENOUGH space for everything I needed for a 4 day weekend. I packed a light pant, a pair of shorts, a very light dress, 3 light short sleeve t-shirts, socks, underwear, a bathing suit, a pair of sandals, a tablet, charging cable and headphones, some food for the flight. , a very small purse, my one liter bag of shampoo/toothpaste/deodorant and an air cushion. It wasn't until the 4th ride that I really understood which zippers open which pockets because I got confused at times as to which pocket held which items. Two zippers provide top-only access to large pockets that ALSO have multi-purpose zippers. It drove me crazy I didn't need those extra zippers since I already had access to those compartments. There's also a compartment that's a bit shorter than the others and I actually "lost" my phone underneath it. I put it on top and assume I know which part it's in if it slides off. But I didn't know there was a page going under that short part. So when I looked for the phone from the OTHER side I didn't feel the short section and thought I had lost the phone or it had been picked up. 2) The water bottle pocket is so tiny I couldn't even fit a 12 ounce bottle of S'ip by S'well safely in it. Not sure which non-plastic refillable bottle is suitable. 3) A small note: while I liked the organizer bag, it was very small. I would have liked a deeper outer pocket like the Tom Bihn Synapse backpacks. This allows me to fit the small packing box that contains my chargers and headphones and have easy access to it when it's under the airplane seat. down, and then I would have to pull the whole backpack out from under the seat to get the headphones and then the charger. WHAT I AM NEUTRAL I don't like the stuff. I don't really like any of the colors maybe because I don't like the fabric? I have blue and it's ok, but the heather looks like faux denim. However, it has survived 5 plane trips well and feels fairly light. So I'm deducting a star because I was very annoyed by the many zippers and another star for the lack of a separate water bottle pocket. Otherwise this is a very good backpack, especially at this price point.
