Medieval Wench Pirate Renaissance Cosplay Costume Reversible Peasant Bodice Review

Let me preface this by saying that I have a 47.5" bust, 36H in bra size, and I ordered the XL. I was actually expecting to have to return this - but was VERY pleasantly surprised to discover that it held the ladies in check (and gave me great cleavage), and I was able to close it quite well without leaving a too-large gap! The fit is great and the material soft and well made. I like the color, but it doesn't match the skirts like I thought it would. I'll make it work so I can use it for several events. I'm going to purchase another color as well because I like the way it fits and feels once on. You'll be happy with this purchase because it has just enough boning in it to do its job and not be uncomfortable.

A mite tricky to get in and out of. There are additional laces on the outside *and* the inside of the back. The boning particularly in front doesn't seem quite historically accurate or make it look like a wench corset, it's also higher, but all the better for my taste. It fits comfortably and wore well when I decided to pin down the top of the shoulder strap to better resemble Helga Hufflepuffs portrait.

I will be using this bodice as part of my costume for a solo performance of "I Hate Men" from the musical Kiss Me Kate! I was surprised that the color was much darker brown than the color portrayed online but it's OK. My main problem is the difficulty putting it on without unlacing it and then needing to-lace it up again--rather time consuming, but I guess that's what they did back in renaissance times. Can be difficult to put on & take off because of the lacing (unless you want to re-lace every single time), but very flattering.

Not for historical reenacting. Runs small and has no boning/structure. May look better on a skinny girl, but looks lumpy on me.

I am so impressed with this item! My only hesitation is that I have no idea how to wash it? But wow it's perfect looking and fits so well!

Bought this to live out my cottage core ren faire dreams and I’m not massively disappointed. It’s not the best fit, I wish the shoulder bit was thinner but I had such a fun time wearing it

The only improvement I can think of is that the laces on the front needed aglets on them so that they go through the grommets for easier lacing up. It looks great with my 1800 costume for the festivals at which I exhibit.

I’m 5’3”, 170 lbs. Got the Large. There is room to cinch it tighter if I lose weight. There’s some boning, so it holds me in a little without wrinkling too much.Fabric is nice. Some have said it’s reversible. If I did that, the inside is shiny medium purple.

I bought two of this kind and they are comfortable and fit well once it is on. Unless the strings in the front is taken off completely it is somewhat difficult to slip on from the top for people with broad shoulders. Overall the fabric is soft and light and the quality is good.

I love that it’s reversible. It gives me so many styling options. It feels really sturdy, the boning is nice. I’m so glad that I got it!Update: I’ve worn this for a few different costumes now. I wish it had more shape in the chest area cuz it kinda squishes ny boobs weird. It’s held up really well and it’s a great find!

My only dislike is that the color in the photo is more grey and what I got it more green but it still works for what I need. The fit is nice and comfy, the fabric is nice. It's fully lined and has some light boning in the front and back panels. Construction is good. It's a good buy for the price.

The structure and fit was better than expected, and there are 3 different sets of laces that can be cinched to achieve the desired look. It's a nice costume piece, but I would not recommend it for a theater production that involves quick changes. It takes some doing to get it on and off! There's no give due to the boning in both the front and back, so the laces have to be pulled completely open each time you want to put it on or take it off.

What I liked was that it fit well!What I didn't like was that the loops to tighten the corset were not well enforced. One of the loops came unseemed and that was the one time I wore it. ☹

Products fits well. I am 38” bust, 28” waist, 135 lbs and got a medium. I thought the brocade I got was going to be Grey but it was actually more of a pewter/gold but it still worked with my dress so I’ll be keeping it.It has (steel?) boning and is adjustable.

I needed this corset for a reniaussance faire I'm attending. It shipped quickly, which would give me time to return or exchange if needed. Happily I didn't need to!I'm 157 pounds with a C cup size, I ordered the XL based on the sizing chart and it fit perfectly! I hate ordering corsets because most of the time they don't fit right over the boob area, this one does!
