My mother bought this as a birthday present for my husband who is turning 65. He was a little touchy about his age and hints that he is hard of hearing and it took him 3 months to fix that with our TV. It didn't work from the start - it worked, then after 5 minutes it turned itself off. When my mother arranged the return we were told there was a 20% restocking fee as we were returning the item a month later. I called Liberty, the company that sells it, and Serene Innovations, the manufacturer, and they didn't move. Even if we opened and used it for the first month and it worked great, I'd still like a refund if it broke in the first 3 months and you can't refill what broke. I could understand the charge if only I had changed my mind, but the product was broken. It gets worse. I told the person at Liberty that I would write a bad review. The next day someone called from there and said they would give a full refund or an exchange. My mum had already bought us a new one which I told him so I decided to return it. He took my email address and said I would receive return instructions the next day. A few days later I called back but only got the car. I left a message again with my email address. Tried to call another time and got the car every time. I don't think it was a mistake to ignore my request to return; I think it was willful dishonesty. The product is great when it works. We live in a noisy area and it is very easy for all of us to hear the TV. It's a shame the companies that make and distribute it don't follow good practices.
