update 7/30/19: so i went to costco and bought a new memory card. The card is rated for the same speed as the one I bought from Revain. Same slow write speed, so I know the camera is defective, not the memory card. That Sony disappointment returns to Revain. First review: I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera and had high expectations. I'm buying a small pocket camera to replace my big, clunky Canon 30D. My main requirement was that it take better pictures than my iPhone XS Max. If not then there is no point in having a camera as I always carry my phone with me. Pros: Build quality seems solid. The form factor is amazing. This item is tiny and fits in most pockets. Outstanding performance compared to other point and shoot cameras. Bad side: tiny buttons. I don't have a problem with that, but if you have big fingers it might be a problem. There is no touchscreen, so navigating through the extensive menu is not quite as comfortable. Ugliness: I don't know if I have a lemon or what, but this camera is not what all the reviews describe. I will return it for a refund or a replacement. Autofocus is slow and inaccurate. Many of my photos are blurry. My iPhone has better autofocus! The write speed is the slowest of any digital camera I've owned in over 20 years. It's slow even though I'm using a SanDisk 170MB/s card. Each picture takes about two to three seconds to take. This is simply unacceptable. I've lost some potentially great shots due to the slowness. I'll do the troubleshooting to make sure the card is defective, but given the other issues I'm having with the camera, I'm guessing it's the camera for now. The automatic setting is just frustrating. I haven't looked into the manual settings yet, but I'm judging the camera based on the automatic feature as the camera is used by several family members, some of whom don't know how to use the manual features. On a car, the camera is not very fast. I photographed my daughter against a relatively bright background. My iPhone captured my daughter's face (albeit a bit dark) and background beautifully. With the Sony, my daughter's face was just as clear as with the iPhone, but the background was completely white, so I couldn't see any background detail. Hope this review helps. I hope that I only have one lemon and that the replacement eliminates all of the above issues.
