I was going to give this thing 3 stars but that wouldn't be fair. That's mostly due to my disappointment with the physical format of the thing - as can be seen in the photo, which I wasn't paying attention to. 1) It's short. 3 feet is not enough for most applications, remember 2) Most frustrating. The DB9 end has holes for female screws, not male screws. And they are not removable. Yes, as in the photo. But that means I can't connect it to a serial port with any hardware I have. why would you do it like that I had to buy a serial extension cable with zip ties on each end to use it. On the other hand, on Windows 10 it didn't need to be installed and it seems to work like a charm. The kit comes with a tiny CD_ROM with drivers, I didn't need them. Electrically it works very well, just don't worry about the physical limitations like I did.
