I picked a few of these to turn off the IR lights on my IP cameras to keep spiders and bugs away. I just installed it a few days ago. Based on the reviews I read about this light I was expecting the light to be dimmer than the recessed light but it is much brighter. I use mid-range Hikvision cameras, so they're definitely bright compared to the average IP camera light. In some orientations it holds the light well, but in other orientations it's not possible to tighten the compression ring tight enough to rotate the camera to hold securely in this position. I'll probably have to put the channel locks on the rings to tighten them enough. Also, the screws that come with the camera are complete bullshit, typical of Chinese-made screws that come with low-end devices. They will break or crack if you try to tighten anything other than new soft jaws without pre-drilling. Overall I'd say if the light holds up over time it's worth it.
