I bought and set up a new InSinkErator to replace the old one. You do not need this part if your dishwasher is already hooked up to a waste chute. This can be useful if your dishwasher hose is slightly larger or smaller than the InSinkErator dishwasher's connector fitting. It is non-returnable, so please wait to see if you need it before buying.
