Review on XPAND Round Lacing Elastic No Tie Shoelaces: Quick Release Tension Control - One Size Fits All Shoes! by Mac Quigley

Never tie your shoes again

I bought them because I have some mobility issues that can make tying my own shoes slower/ uncomfortable/ more difficult than I'd prefer. I usually keep my shoelaces loosely laced and double-knotted so I can just step into my shoes, but I wanted a better way.The video demo from the manufacturer's website effectively showed how to add them to shoes. After I paused and rewatched a couple of parts, it was pretty easy to put them on.I had to "install" them twice because I managed to pull one shoelace tip out of the "pull tab." That was annoying, but I fixed it after prying open the pull tab with a flat screwdriver.Because of my mobility issues, I found it easiest to remove my shoes and thread the laces first before adjusting them for fit and comfort while on my feet. If you have a lot of trouble bending or have significant arthritis in your hands, you might need someone to help you install or adjust these laces. The laces have some stretch, but I still find it helpful to use a telescoping shoehorn to put on my shoes.I can't speak to their durability yet, but I am pleased so far and will update if something changes.

Pros
  • Improves independence when putting on and taking off shoes
Cons
  • May not be secure enough for high-impact activities
