Not what you expect for $500

OK. I called Uniden before ordering this $500 scanner. Told them where I live and asked if he would accept transfers and they told me yes. Well after 5 days without a single call to the device it's time to return it. I programmed it as needed with my ZIP, then tried ZIP at Fort Bliss, then El Paso, at the McGregor Test Range, then at the White Sands Missile Range, and then at the last Holloman AFB. We're in the mountains overlooking all these areas and the squadron is 14 miles away, no call yet. I set "Range" and still nothing. So my score is low. The controls are awkward and difficult to understand at first, but with practice you get used to them. The enter button is the yes button and the menu button is on the side, like the microphone button on the transceiver. You will accidentally hit it when carrying the device. Also, you CANNOT HEAR while it's on the charger. So determine the loading time in advance.
