I think that this is a great product. I have both a laptop and a switch that I game with. As much as I love Nintendo games, I find playing some shooters with licensed Nintendo controllers hard. I do have to pair the remote most times when I turn on my switch, but that is hardly a downside. The adapter that comes included allows you to play with your favorite controller outside of the doc. All in all, I would recommend this as an alternative to buying a power A remote to anyone who is going from Xbox or PlayStation to switch as the 8BitDo 2 can work with most major company controllers.
