Fantastic gift

Bought as a gift and the recipient liked it. Instead of a novel, I will share brief facts about it: 1) High quality, understandable. The weight is balanced and the product is very durable. A tote bag is not required at all. 2) This version costs $100 more than another seemingly identical model. This model has a battery, the other does not. Although the battery was not needed, it was used a lot more than expected. So it might be worth considering. 3) The dock spins very hard and comes back. The internal mechanism is molded from steel, not plastic. It charges your device regardless of whether it is powered by AC power or the internal battery. 4) The battery is removable (to fit in narrow compartments or for storage) 5) SOUND: The sound quality gets better the louder this unit is played. It appears to use some sort of harmonic exciter (frequency dependent delay) to allow the full spectrum of the audio signal to be heard. You will find that the equalizer settings are not needed on your device. 6) On the back of the device there is a power adapter port and a 1/4" stereo jack (other audio device). It works great with Playstation 3 and musical instruments. (Keyboards, etc.) Points to note: 7) The touch buttons on on the right side of the device for volume up/down are not in the center where the +/- symbols are located. On touch, to adjust the volume you might need to press just below the icon, there's a press and you hold it. For this reason, the remote controls control better and faster. 8) Even if the power supply has a cord wrap (and the cord is long), do not wrap it around it. This introduces capacitance and resistance that causes thermal and magnetic interference to nearby unshielded equipment (the latter may or may not be important unless you're recording or listening to something sensitive).
