Great sound, portability and durability

I've had this speaker for a few years now and I love it. It sounds loud and clear and better than anything I've seen at this size. The speaker has traveled the world with me, weathering downpours and a hectic life in my backpack. The only thing that broke was the adapter. It stopped working, but I was able to find a replacement online for a great price. The replacement was even better because it was smaller and easier to transport. I want them to keep making this speaker.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unreliable

Best 30 pin speaker for Ipod/iPhone

Bose is the best! Excellent proprietary sound, especially in a church cathedral :) Worth the investment. I already have one, bought it because it's the same model that was discontinued. I want everyone to know that BOSE CARE FOR ITS CUSTOMERS! I had to send my old one to Bose for repairs when the contact came loose (the main problem with them). Not only did they replace the turntable, they sent me back a new remote control and backup charger. I sincerely believe that they renovated everything…

This Bose laptop works with any Bluetooth enabled smartphone

At least there is currently no Bose Portable for the iPhone 5. I told my close friend that I bought this Bose portable with a Bluetooth have adapters. The sound is amazing, and using Bluetooth doesn't detract from the amazing sound quality that Bose delivers. So I ordered it for her and she loves it, the sound quality, the ability to charge and the handle on the back of the handheld for easy carrying. And it works very well on their iPhone 5 with a bluetooth adapter. She plans to take him on…

The thing is really great. I'm generally a pretty big audiophile.

This is really great. I'm a pretty big audiophile and I usually stay away from BOSE products as I mostly find them overpriced junk. I bought it for a trip my best friend and I wanted to take to Ibiza and I wanted some kind of portable sound that could start a party at the beach or the hotel pool. And that's exactly what this thing did. Even when it was only battery powered, I would fill the whole beach with great music and people would come and have a dance party with us. The remote control is…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • No performance

The Bose SoundDock Portable surprised me (in a good way)

I would describe myself as an aging semi-audiophile on a budget (current 5.1 system: B&W 684, Marantz SR7005 receiver, Mirage subwoofer and Audyssey surround sound with meticulous room equalization). I'm retired, have a small DJ hobby/business and do a bit of audio production/editing (mixing remixes, adjusting volume/speakers, crossfading, editing video audio, etc.). Over the years I have owned several sound rigs made by most major and not so major brands. The reason I mention this is because…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Fantastic gift, good for portable speakers and docking stations

Bought as a gift, the recipient liked it. Instead of a novel, I will share brief facts about it: 1) Of course, of high quality. The weight is balanced and the product is very durable. A tote bag is not required at all. 2) This version costs $100 more than another seemingly identical model. This model has a battery, the other does not. Although the battery was not needed, it was used a lot more than expected. So it might be worth considering. 3) The dock spins very hard and comes back. The…

Great sound, would like wifi.

I've been listening to Bose SoundDock Portable, Sound Freaq SFQ-01R Sound Platform, Logitech S715i Rechargeable, and Bose SoundLink Wireless mobile speakers in different environments at the same time. Here are my findings. Bose SoundDock Portable: This one had the best sound, beating the Logitech S715i. On the other hand, my iPhone had to be connected to it to play music. So if the phone was enough or I wanted to make a call or do something with my iPhone, I had to disconnect the phone, meaning

Bose SoundDock Portable and Bose Soundlink

I'm not a Bose fan, but I have several Bose products. I don't buy Bose products just because of the name, they have products that just aren't worth the money. Some of their headphones are just awful. Yes, and some of their two-component acoustic systems with the Acoustimass module are not suitable. I ended up replacing them with floorstanding speakers from other companies like Polk Audio without the high price premium of Bose products. I own almost every Bose portable iPod speaker system…
