I am a dental hygienist and have recommended the fluoride prescription version for many years. I personally use it every night. This is particularly beneficial for patients with dry mouth due to tricalcium phosphate, which is secreted in saliva and helps remineralize teeth. I recommend applying with a dry brush and not rinsing afterwards. Despite all the comments about the amount of fluoride, you should know that fluoride alone does not reduce the risk of tooth decay! The two ingredients together are the key. Think of fluorine as "brick” and calcium phosphate as "mortar.”
