I wanted a summer belt that was flexible and not as stiff as my leather belt to use for summer shorts and when it gets wet it dries quickly. one is easy to adjust and fasten. This nylon rev belt is perfect, met and exceeded all of my expectations. I cut it to my waist size, gently melted the cut off portion with a small kitchen torch (for caramelizing etc.). A soldering iron works too. The nylon of this belt is thick and durable. Cutting with sharp shop scissors showed how tough it was. It was hard to cut! The nylon buckles, one to secure the cut end of the strap and the other to adjust the tension of the strap, are well made and should hold up to everyday use very well. The buckle teeth are made of plastic and are not sharp. But they grip the belt's textured nylon material very well without worrying about tearing/wearing out of the belt material. No metal means less weight, no rusting or tarnishing, no wear on metal parts and this belt is safe to use in the water. For the price of a pair of straps here is a bargain, in fact these days you really do get more than you paid for this rare piece. 5 stars in everything! Very happy with this purchase.
