If you plan to use this product in the kitchen, note that it can detect hands and opaque dishes and dispense soap. However, if your item is glass, the dispenser will not "see" it and dispense soap. I was hoping this would help my guests and I avoid contact with the soap dispenser, which most of the time we do. But judging by how it's made, I can't use it like my old pump dispenser. Overall, this product is ok and more of a gimmick for me. If you place it near a faucet, be prepared to turn off the dispenser VERY FREQUENTLY to wipe away the water that is splashing all over the unit. Wouldn't buy it again.
