I bought 2 pieces as a gift for my grandchildren aged 5 and 7. A 5 year old girl built it with her father, a 7 year old alone. Upon completion, they were thrilled to see the kaleidoscope images keep changing. The concept is exciting for the child and keeps it busy for a long time. A well-designed kit and build is a great way to learn mechanical skills and improve fine motor skills. Definitely recommend as the perfect gift for younger children.
