Bought for my granddaughter. She was too young for this project. Here she helped the adult more than the adult helped her. Nevertheless, nice time together.

The kaleidoscope was difficult to assemble. The instructions were unclear and it took two adults to help the kids build. Some of it fell off almost immediately. I would not recommend this kit.

Great concept. Poor quality materials. The sticker did not peel off easily and it was impossible to remove the paint from the mirrors. The mirrors are the most important part, the whole kit is now useless. I ordered a set thinking it would be easy for kids to put together. Feel like a waste of money.

What a wonderful toy! Gifted to my niece, 6 years old. We had a lot of fun building, great instructions for kids to follow. She enjoyed testing all the different combinations in the viewer. A great opportunity to talk about refraction! Fun, creative, interactive, can be an activity for kids. +!

My 8 year old granddaughter has been playing with my 57 year old kaleidoscope for two years. She is extremely crafty, so this project was perfect for her. She read the instructions and assembled it unaided and thoroughly enjoyed learning how my old cardboard kaleidoscope works.

Great idea, but we agree with other reviewers' comments on the fragility of the tube and the quality of other content. Our son was building a kaleidoscope and the lid of the plastic container immediately got stuck so he couldn't open it to change the contents. It seems that the parts could be better designed to avoid this problem and prevent the eyepiece and case from falling off without glue. However, we love the concept and so does our son. Bought this for my 6 year old who loves kaleidoscopes and crafts. Unfortunately, it was too difficult for them to assemble it themselves. The eyepiece must be inserted and the mirrors inserted carefully. We couldn't assemble it without removing the glossy paper cover. Once assembled, the tray with the shiny items keeps slipping out. When this happens, about a dozen chunks are thrown out. I wasn't expecting museum quality but this is very disappointing. Of course, it can be sealed with tape, but
