No instructions in box

This article says the paper is self-adhesive but it is not. Made assembly difficult as it was for younger children. Instructions in the packaging would be nice. I'm glad we made an example before expanding it to children.

  • Durable surface

Fine item: Novel and fun toy

The kaleidoscopes came with everything needed to make them but no instructions that would help a child build them unaided. However, they were well received and worked well under their grandmother's direction. Good value for money.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Compatibility

Good price but needs help

The price was good, the product came quickly and with most of the materials needed. There were no instructions so I had to figure it out somehow. It didn't have anything to hold the beads in place so I used some of what you checked to make this. There was nothing to decorate them either.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • unreliable

Nice and easy DIY gift

Easy DIY gift. Just arrange the cardboard mirrors along with the beads. I didn't remove the film covering the "mirror" and of course the reflection was weak. My 6 year old niece pointed this out and removed the foil so the beads reflect well. The kids had fun collecting it and learning the principles of reflection. Good buy.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Bad design but still fun

There were 3 tubes in the kit: two long and one small. The wrapping paper was not long enough for the longest tubes. The mirrors aren't long enough either, and the beads fall off at both ends instead of staying in the mirror triangle (cut tube). The piece of plastic in the eyepiece is scratched, so blurry. It's poorly designed and poorly executed. The kids still had fun and enjoyed them without the lid. Parents: 5 minutes to assemble; 30 minutes of fun.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Expensive

Great project! in New Toys & Fun

Exactly what I was looking for! We had 3 long so the decor paper didn't cover the entire tube so we just used our own. It is very easy to understand even without instructions. I suggest sealing the mirrors in a triangle before inserting the tube to make it easier and putting some hot glue on the inside of the caps to keep them from coming loose. There is a small plastic washer inside to keep the beads from falling down the tube, which I noticed the other reviewer didn't seem to have had. The…

Kaleidoscopes are not worth the price

These kaleidoscopes come without assembly instructions. They also come in two different sizes: 4 inches and 7 1/2 inches long. Unfortunately, the outer decorative paper is the same size, 4 inches long. It doesn't do justice to the longer size. I cut the paper for the longer ones to make them passable. The only way to manipulate them is to transform them as a whole. If you try to twist the end while holding the beads it will fall off. Pretty thin at best and definitely not worth $3 apiece!

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Simple Kaleidoscope

I wanted to make a simple kaleidoscope for my little grandkids who are almost 4 and 6 years old. That fits the bill. They still struggled with some elements but once I started they were able to keep going, especially the 6 year old. The kaleidoscope gave them an idea of what it was all about. If you want a good kaleidoscope, this probably won't work. The parts of the mirrors inside were just coated cardboard and not that shiny. The beads were made of plastic of various shapes. Two of the tubes…

No directions are best in prisms and kaleidoscopes

Although fairly basic, no directions or reading material were included. I was hoping there would be a scientific bulletin or something about refraction. I do not know. Some. Also, without instructions, I didn't realize until I built one of the kaleidoscopes that there was plastic wrap on all the plastic parts that had to be removed. Easy enough to fix. All tubes are different sizes. A tube is too big for the supplied mirror. To solve this problem I took a tube from a toilet paper roll, cut it…
