I like that the filling sticks to the mat but comes off easily when I shake it back into the bowl. There is no unnecessary junk and it only takes a second. The mat looks clean again after shaking - no dust or dirt is left after shaking. The idea of having two rugs is great. I have 2 trays - 1 smaller and 1 larger. These rugs were the perfect size to place 1 rug at the entrance of each box. My cat has had inappropriate urination in the past when her litter box has changed or become uncomfortable. These mats did not alter its pattern in any way. I didn't even see him looking at her. It doesn't smell like plastic, which bothered me a bit. Additional Notes: There is still litter around the mat because my cat is jumping and the litter is flying all over the place. It doesn't attract flying debris but catches them as they fall. I'm not sure how cleaning cats will react to the texture of the carpets. My cat doesn't clean the outside of the box after leaving it. I've seen some cats do it. The synthetic mesh feels surprisingly soft, so it should be comfortable for her.
