This is the perfect replacement for a Kohler (Fluidmaster) Series 5 inflation valve with a Kohler 83143 seal. It is actually made by Fluidmaster and uses the same seals as them. I also ordered a genuine Kohler seal in case there is a difference. My toilet is probably 7 or 8 years old and has reached the point where it won't turn off. I cleaned the original seal several times, which helped at first. This new one works great. The old gasket looked perfect but I think it has hardened a bit over the years and is no longer sealing properly. A great way to fix a leaking toilet for $1.60. There is no need to buy a completely new valve. There are many videos on YouTube showing how to remove the bonnet and replace the gasket.
