I have used many different small travel bags. This makeup case is superior to this method. My travel cosmetics, toothbrush and medication fit into this organizer. Having space for brushes (including a toothbrush where you can easily access them) is a huge benefit. Because of the dividers, I can make or customize additional pockets for such items. I put my eye mask, earplugs or cotton pads in the zip pocket. I have the black quilted one. It adds a bit of layer. It might reduce the chance of breaking things inside, but I would have preferred a flat top that shaves that 1/4 inch! It fits perfectly in my pocket. . .
