Review on Lipper International 8865 Bamboo Serving by Nick Beck

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So well made and delivered that even the tray deserves a rating

Okay, that's a dining tray. Normally I would not rate such a banal product. But this one, well, it's like - I'm not going to say "great". The tray isn't that great. God is amazing. But if God needed a food tray, he would have ordered this one. Built like a tank. Go to the gym and do a few bicep curls before using this. It's no small thing. It's big enough, just as advertised, for that full-size plate and up, but it's also just plain thick. Firmly. It's a bit heavy for a tray I suppose, but it adds stability when you're sitting on the couch eating and watching the news (Fox, of course). Wood joints are smooth and dense. Nothing gives way, does not stagger and does not stagger. It speaks of quality. And as if that weren't enough, even the packaging tells you that whoever makes and ships them cares about quality – on par with Old World artisans. It was packaged as if it were some sort of dainty little tray. I don't know why it was so well packed, but they packed it: and everything was neatly packed too. The box even said "Ready to Ship" but Revane placed the wrapped tray and box in his own box. A certain overkill. sadness forever. You can drop this thing in your yard with no packaging, and it's going to take a beating. Well, I'm exaggerating to make that clear. Also, not expensive at all, just $3 more than the small, lightweight (but still nice) tray I first ordered, which only holds a small plate. what would i change I would make the handles a little bigger and round the edges. That's all. Bravo, manufacturers and sellers! The quality hasn't died. - UPDATE After posting I read the other reviews and was surprised by the negative reviews. Without changing my own assessment: I'm still impressed.
