Review on Exploring the Melissa & Doug Take Along Doorbell Dollhouse: Innovative Portable Playset for Hours of Fun! by Sean Fabacher

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It can be difficult for children to get keys to certain locks.

Melissa & Doug are very good natural toys. I love this toy BUT honestly it just seems good in concept. This is a sturdy toy that will stand up to heavy play; no questions. The price of this toy is a bit high for this type of toy but considering how it is made of wood, metal and natural materials I understand why there is an extra charge. This is not a mass-produced plastic toy that is short-lived. It will be for a long time. This is a great gift because it's exactly what my 3 year old wanted. My main issue which I gave 3/5 is that the strap, buttons are very short. I think it's short because it prevents a possible choking hazard (due to the large amount of slack that can wrap around the child's neck). I actually like that safety is part of the design. However, if the band is twisted slightly or otherwise turned in just the right direction, the attached keys will not reach their numbered slots. This causes a lot of frustration, which I think could solve more problems, but I think it would be appropriate to have an extra 1-2 inches of slack to make it easier to use. I recommend it, but keep that in mind.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Crumpled
