Not real 8 AWG and not real copper. Its aluminum is covered with copper a few atomic layers thick, making it look like copper.
May be suitable for low powered speakers. This is not true US 8 AWG gauge wire. It measures around 10 AWG, but that's aluminum, not copper. When purchasing, remember that it can only handle 12 AWG copper wire power. I got this because I needed 14 AWG wire and figured it would probably be enough for that. If you give him a charge that calls for a 10 gauge, you'll have a fire.
