I bought this camera for my wife as a New Year's gift. She always wants to take nature shots while we camp, but she could never get close enough to get a good shot. We didn't have a camera with us, but for several days and it was too cold to hike, we still took a trip through the forest and took great pictures of geese on a pond a few hundred meters away. The 30x zoom is great. I always shake too much to get good shots, but the image stabilization seems to work really well at full zoom. We also used this camera for family photos at Christmas and the timer feature is pretty cool. It actually shows a 10 second countdown in the viewfinder. Which brings me to another plus point. The viewfinder is great when you're outdoors. It's often very difficult to see the image on the screen because it's too bright outside, and this viewfinder solves that problem! Another option that I found interesting is the ability to resize the image. You can either take a regular picture with a 4:3 aspect ratio or switch it to a 16:9 aspect ratio like I did when we were taking family photos at Christmas. I was able to capture more than 20 people in the picture and the picture quality looks great! There are still many different settings in the camera that we haven't even touched on yet. I've read other posts about the lens cap. Well, it's true, if you don't remove him before turning on the camera, he'll talk about it himself. This has happened to me, but not a big problem. Just turn off the camera and remove the cover. This camera is everything I (my wife) was looking for and I would recommend it to anyone!
