Amazing for the price with EQ

They weren't immediately impressive but once tested they are just amazing. Out of the box they appeared to be colored and sounded cold/dry. Break them in and get used to the sound. After you do this you will realize how much better they are than what you have. They peak around 9k, which annoys me. I'm not sensitive to high frequencies but that 9k peak is too much, turn it down about 5db and you're spot on. The soundstage is wide, separation is excellent and the picture is outstanding. The bass is incredibly punchy and these things will withstand whatever bass boost you give them. I highly recommend removing the grille from them to open up the soundstage. Use a very thin screwdriver to pry the outer plastic ring around the grille, there are 4 tabs holding it in place. The rust falls out after the ring is removed. The wearing comfort is very good, but the headband is very stiff. The ear pads feel very nice, they are comfortable and soft; also angular. It's mostly made of plastic, but still looks well made. Please please buy a replacement cable for them, the standard cable is the thinnest, craziest mic cable I've ever seen. It's practically a fishing line. Suitable for 2 3.5mm jacks. I would recommend getting a DAC and an amplifier, but nothing special is required. Anything better than an Apple USB/Lightning to 3.5mm adapter will do for them. I wouldn't run them from a phone, the instruments are separate, the soundstage is hit and they sound harsh.
